Okay, so since i have already become a *shock horror!* fanfic reader and writer... I decided to continue on the slippery slope...perhaps helped a little along the way by wearing slick shoes. (slick shoes, are you crazy?!)
Behind the cut is alternative/parody lyrics to the song VB - yes that's right! - by nixwilliamsand johnnypurplewhich i love. That is one piece of rather embarrassing fandom, being that it is written and sung by a friend, but hey, (time to suck up) if it's that good... anyway check it out on www.nixwilliams.com ! But the other fandom is Shaun of the Dead which anyone can tell I am a huge fan of. Picture the breakup scene...

 To prove myself a liar I have written a fanfic. This is 100% non-edited or 'fact-checked' I haven't calculated or looked up age differences or ways that characters talk, or anything like that. Nor have i read HP recently. oh well.

 I was thinking about Fandom, as you do, and my last little rant in the real world professing that I never ever ever wrote fanfiction, and crankyturtlewas very much mistaken, dare I say - deluded? - for thinking that I ever did. When it occured to me that the majority of my creative endeavors have been in some way linked to fandom, from my earliest stories and drawings to quite recent work and imaginings. Whether one chooses to define it as influence, motivations, plagariasm or fandom; I cannot deny that almost everything that I love makes me want to make my own little babies with it. As Emma Thompson put it in Peter's friends: "Fill me with your little babies!".

So here is probably the first well defined and finished piece of fanfiction. My own sequel to The Hobbit before being told that there was one already. At which point I squeed and begged to get LOTR for Xmas, which i did in 1991, therefore I wrote this fic in grade 4. I have included original spelling and grammar. Rereading it, I see the potential for fanfic-slash. The original was written landscape on 6 pages, in cursive, pencil, with a picture on the seventh page. I used a bubble font for the title. and my name was written only on the first and last pages, in blue pencil. The picture was in colour pencil, but too faint to scan nicely. Gandalf had a blue hat and hot pink robes. enjoy!
