So, a few days into November I realised that November was the worst month ever for locking yourself in your room and trying to write a bad novel in a single month, and thus, decided to stop trying. If only there was a way to officialy 'quit' nanowrimo, but no, my early change of mind now equates to a 'fail'. But hey, I'm alright with that.

I have finally finished my ShaunoftheDead/ArrestedDevelopment crossover fic, this morning. I still want to read over it and maybe fix up some of the sloppiness if I can, before posting it. I also think I'll draw some pics to go with it. I'm not thrilled with some of the writing, but I remain overjoyed at the concept. It is quite long, at rougly 11500 words. eep!

I am going to buy a new computer for myself soon. trying to decide whether a laptop or a desktop would be better. I could get a desktop and keep this older laptop anyway, or otherwise I'd wipe it of my stuff and give it to my mum because hers is ancient and crap. Also, I rarely take my laptop anywhere except maybe from one room in my house to another room in my house, which is nice to have the option but I'm more productive in my room anyway. I think that desktops use more energy though, and we almost always have the main pc turned on, so I'd feel bad if we suddenly had two on all the time, draining power. But a desktop could have even more speed, power, memory, graphics, etc than a laptop, although only the most advanced stuff is unaivable in laptops and I might not invest that highly anyway!

When I get a new computer I am considering buying some pc games! I haven't played any since the mid 90s (except puzzles and card games) and am either looking forward to playing high-end rpgs, and stuff, or am terrified of the new form of procrastination I will be inflicting on myself. Hmmm.... Also, considering buying Creative Suite, or at least a newer version of Flash, if not a whole swag of programs. The money I have, but I am not really happy about spending it all.

On the weekend I was worried that my sister-in-law had forgotten the Fraggle Rock dvds I lent her AGES ago, and was going to demand them back in fear of the being lost or 'returned' to somebody else. But when I got to their house, one of the first conversations was '..we were watching fraggle rock', also, 'i'm looking for a wembley for you' , and then they put Fraggle Rock on the tv to entertain the kiddies. I was quite happy to say nothing and extend the loan indefinitely, but no nearer to asking about the other dvds and books of mine they still have.
Oh yeah. And my niece and nephew are too cute.

I also really need to ring the driving instructor and book my first lesson. I am so slack. I got his card off him on friday (? or sat?) and I need to get a move on. anyone got a whip?

2 spoonbills at the lake again. Pretty neat. Trying to decide whether more photos are needed (i took about 200 last time they were here).
Also a few little pied cormorants, nankeen night heron, the usual. beautiful sun, spring breeze. goddam nice day.

Finding it very hard to leave the sunshine for the city. Do I really need to see a film today? Do I really need to go shopping? Perhaps a book, a drawing pad, and a seat in the sun are a better use of my time today... 

In any case, sitting at this computer, best use of my time it aint. I'll be off now, for sunshine or moon, still undecided.

If I played farmville, I would be the maniac who went around and burnt everyone's farms to the ground or sold them to the bank, or got a tornado to fly them to freaking Oz, because then I wouldn't have to hear about every boring thing that happens on everybody's boring ass farms.

If I counted correctly, I am up to 30 pictures in my epic Goon/Lab project. I may not work on it very often, but I'm getting somewhere!

Last week/end (or rather, the one before that!) was too busy to get much done on my animation, so it ended up kinda half baked. But it did get in on time...just. I haven't uploaded it yet to youtube, however it is now up on the animation club's youtube, so here it is! Instead of giving you just my own, this time it's the whole playlist from the night. Just a quick post to say how awesome Great Big Squiddy Fun was yesterday. Some blurry photos and a 2 minute vid of Jet and her dad playing a song together, will be forthcoming.
 
Despite the fact that I hung around my parents most of the time, rather than mingling with the oh-so-cool musical types, i still had a great time, and am now quite legitimately besotted with Mikelangelo (of the black sea gentlemen) who insists that I shall have no more excuses to miss his gigs as he has just moved back to melbourne and will perform here more often (sans gentlemen, though, as they are nswelshgentlemen). 

Now I just feel bad for never getting around to spreading the word. The gig was pretty full but I guess a majority of the audience was also the performers - being a tribute gig there were a lot of performers with short sets. I always meant to email out the 'posters' but never did. oh well. but it was awesmoe. <3 BATERZ <3

On Thursday I went to the awesmoest play by Ronnie Burkett's Marionette Theatre - "Billy Twinkle; Requiem for a Golden Boy" with my mawh, and I think that he could hear me from backstage saying 'I hope he doesn't have a cold because he's got such a cute amusing american accent... well Canadian rather." But his voice was less cute and more boistrous this time and nobody laughed at his 'do you cuise much?' joke, and I was too embarrassed to cackle myself.

Thursday also resulted in period pain compounding what was left of the back pain. Although it really digs its claws in now. thanks GODfor your intelligent design that says I have to suffer not only if i ever have a baby but every month that I choose not to as well!

I think this Sunday I may see free hip hop stuff at the arts centre, if nothing else comes along.

Next Tuesday I'llah be seeing "One Night the Moon" at the malthouse, which looks pretty awesmoe too, but I'll have to wait to see it before I go claiming it to be so. uhuh.

The following Sunday is Jet's gig at The Corner. Jet being the sister of the late Baterz and the girlfriend of (the only slightly tardy) brother o' mine. The GIG being the melbourne launch of the double cd Baterz Tribute album. (i think! dog halp me if i'm wrong)

I also have a small but growing 'wish list' for the various festimabavils coming up. On it:

And also I've been continuing to felt small wee birdies and some other um thingies. OOOOOOHHHHHH and my sister has thrown a potential drawing 'job' (as in, well, quite akin to the last lot I did which only resulted in half the work being paid for but oh well live and learn, or live and eat and be merry or something) BUT BUT BUT it is drawing .... wait for it.... .... ... ...
